CoverGirl: Queen Collection

The struggle is real for us dark girls/women to find the correct shade of foundation in your skin tone, especially when you go out looking for your make up in shops, for example Boots. I never see my foundation colour anywhere, it's struggle, like I said earlier, but, I think I may have found the solution, I found a certain make up brand, which is more or less likely to be aimed for dark skin, which is the brand, Covergirl: Queen Collection.
3-in-1 Foundation for Dark Skin
This foundation has many different shades which will most definitely match many dark skin tones. The foundation, as it says is a 3- in- 1, includes powder, concealer and foundation, which provides a flawless look, lasting all day.
Face Powder| Queen Collection Lasting Matte Powder
This pressed powder is the item that I own, and I love. It does exactly as it says, giving you a natural look with an even coverage, with a controlling shine. This matte pressed powder is just perfect to use for those lazy days you don't feel like using foundation, the powder will give you a natural look, but make you look as if you have put a lot of effort into your make up.
Another make up brand that us dark skin girls/women can benefit from, is Bare Minerals foundation and powder. Since most of us should have heard that Bare Minerals can blend in with your skin tone straight away, withough having to chose a shade, which is why I would go for Bare Minerals for dark skin.
This foundation gives you an adjustable coverage and a natural finish, as it has an ultra- thin, skin perfecting fluid. Hearing from the reviews, this product seems to be really good, especially for those who want a more natural look.
This pressed powder Foundation help absorb excess oil, and control shine for a natural matte finish, it also minimizes the appearance of pores, and provides you with a much fresher, smooth looking skin. This product is great for those with an oily complexation, giving them at least a controlled shine.
Hopefully this post has helped you guys in finding the correct make up brand for dark skin, as soon as I found out about this make up brand, I had to try the matte pressed powder, which is now my favourite pressed powder, hopefully will be the same for you guys if you decide to buy any of there make up. Don't forget to leave a comment down below if you have tried out there make up, and tell us what you think, if you enjoyed this blog post, follow us for more.

Normani Kordei

This summer i have become majorly obsessed with the girl group fifth harmony, mainlybecause they present girl power and their new album relfection is on repeat all day. i have also become interested in the way do their hair and make up particularly Normani Kordei as she has an African - american ethnic background in which we can relate and use what she uses. i love the way she has her hair and make up she changes up her looks a lot and manages to pull the it off and look flawless.
I looked over many of Normani's make-up looks and came across one of my fave looks from her, which was from the VMA's last summer  Sr-MI_5h
This was Normani's look last year at the VMA'S in 2014, this is one of many favorite looks from normani because it is simple but yet effective her eye make-up make her eye color pop out nicely as she has beautiful brown eyes and her lips look natural and sophisticated to complete the look.
Screen-Shot-2014-08-26-at-12.51.01-PM
For Normanis complextion she used:
Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer and Hana Organic skincare gentle toner  to prep and soothe her skin throughout the day. And to give Normani medium coverage she used Modern Minerals Foundation Honey Bronze.
For her eyes:
Because Normani chose her eyes to be her main focus of her look its the reason for her nude lips.

Normanis hair is always on fleek and is actual goals so i have found the hair products that she uses and that are good for all hair types which is what most  women especially us black women, need for our hair. Here are the main products she cant live without to maintain her beautiful hair!
  • The Redkin duo: Helps a lot if you have colored hair and protects the coloring in your hair and keeps your hair healthy. this helps keep the dye in and not come out every time you wash it.
  • Chi Iron Guard: This is good if you like to apply heat you hair, you start by applying it to your hair before putting heat on it. Just dont apply too much!!
  • Sebastian shaper zero gravity: this can be applied after styling your hair or putting hair on it and it's a must have for us black women to ensure that our hair stay's down and for it not turn into a huge Afro and go frizzy. this product  protects hair from wetness.
  • African coconut oil: Is great for the ends of your hair and Normani uses it when she bleaches the end of her hair. Firstly you apply it at the ends and cover it with a shower cap and leave it in for a few minutes to lock in the moisture.
I absolutely adore what Normani does  to her and make-up as she is always looking gorgeous and flawless. Normani is defiantly one of our black beauties girl crushes, as she manages to experiment with beauty and try out products to help our struggles in beauty as black women.
Here is another one of Normanis make up looks from the lady herself

Tee Nah Shay

Tinashe's fashion has to be my favourite right now. I've spent some time checking out her outfits for shows and events, and I have realised that Tinashe seems to like to wear outfits which are comfortable but fancy at the same time. To me, Tinashe has a style similar to Aaliyah, who was an American R&B artist.

So for this post, I am hoping to share with you guys where you can find some of the items of clothing that you may see Tinashe wearing, along with informing you guys her. I describe Tinashe's fashion as a super-sexy mix of tomboy and street-chic fashion. If you love her style as much as we do, you would of course want it in your wardrobe, yes?

Let's start off with what Tinashe wore to a charity basketball game, she wore an oversized, camo tee as a dress, pairing with black leggings, sneakers and a black hat worn backwards, as you can see, Tinashe kept her look simple, but made sure that she would shine even in a casual look.

Where to find;

The last outfit we're showing you, is what Tinashe wore to visit an animal park in Australia, as it was not a very big event, of course Tinashe would keep the look simple as usual.

Where to find;

Thank you for reading, we hope this post has given you some knowledge of Tinashe's fashion style. Don't forget to follow out blog, and follow our social media sites for more updates.

Melissa Steel 'You Love Me?'

melissa-steel
Melissa Steel burst into the music scene with her summer hit kisses for breakfast last year. Melissa is a talented aspiring artist who has an extremely rare unique voice and deserves a lot of recognition. she is waving the flag for fierce black women. She is now back with a new hit 'you love me' ft wretch 32, in which she worked on the song with major producer Rodney jerkins who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Will Smith and Justin Bieber.

Melissa released 'you love me?' about a month ago on soundcloud and has gained over 25,000 hits. Melissa shot the video in July, its a very fun video and has a major atmosphere of summer the music video is shot in the sunny city of Los Angeles. in which we see her having water fights with friends, eating pizza and enjoying a bangin summer. You Love Me?’ is an extremely catchy and infectious pop song with a touch of R&B the song about Melissa who deals with a bae that has deep feelings for her and clearly loves her, but he hasn't really said it aloud. the song is majorly catchy and Melissa defiantly shows of her range of sweet vocals. Personally i adore Melissa and believe she has unbelievable talent and her humble personality is a bonus.

Melissa's inspirations include Aaliyah as she absolutely adores her. she also shares a likeness to Aaliyah they both so alike and share slimier features, usually i don't make comparisons to Aaliyah but Melissa defiantly fits in the comparisons, and hopefully she follows up the musical success and career our beloved Aaliyah had."Aaliyah is my number one inspiration. I always loved her as a little girl"

The New Hair Trend

Now there are many many different ways us black women have our hair styled, in ways to protect our natural hair. From weaves to wigs to braids, which we're focusing on braids.
A while back braids didn't seem to be the the top hairstyle for many of us, but lately as I've been doing my research, they have seem to have come back into style, especially those box braids.

Everywhere I go nowadays I see a lot of black women and girls with long box braids in their hair, hinting to me that it's back.
Obviously it started with the neutral colours like black, brown etc. Now people have decided to add colour and acceccories to their box braids. The colour that has caught our eyes is the purple box braids.

Where can I get these extensions you may ask? Well I'm going to tell you. I tend to use expression hair extensions, here are the exact hair extensions used in the photo above. Tzhair.co.uk
To get the little cuffs also where I would order from Amazon.
I hope this post has updated you on the new hair trend, and where to find them. Thank you so much for reading, we appreciate it. Don't forget to subscribe to our blog for more updates and many more.
